Eli, you are ONE YEAR OLD! You don’t look older to me, but my how you have changed since we first brought you home a year ago. You are so close to crawling and beginning to get into everything. Your a happy boy who smiles easily, but stubborn- you know what you want. You are so observant and you give the best open mouth kisses. You love to read, to turn the pages of the book, you jump like a wild animal in your jumper and you talk up a storm. You are one handsome boy- mama has already set up all your future dates. We are working on so many things and we are so proud of where you are right now- milestones be damned, you are one rocking little dude and we love you so much!
Eli’s birthday party was HUGE! Like…overwhelmingly huge! So many people who love him- wow!! We feel so blessed to have that many amazing people in our lives that love our little man. 🙂
We had to move the location due to crazy storms the night before- everything was drenched and the forecast originally included even more rain the next morning.
I contacted everyone to let them know where the new location was the day before…so naturally when I woke up on Sunday morning, it was stunningly beautiful. If I wouldn’t have moved the party it would have been raining I’m sure of it.
Anyway, everyone was able to come to the new location and the party was so nice! (It’s a good thing we moved too, there were between 80-100 people there, and the original park we had planned to use wouldn’t have held everyone!)
It was so awesome! Eli thought it was less than awesome LOL he got overstimulated and pretty much slept or cried the whole time. It was a lot to take in. I guess that is how most one year birthday parties go anyhow. My mom rescued him from the big crowd a few times and once everyone began to leave, he settled back into his happy little self.
A little over a year ago we asked everyone to walk with us through Holland. It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since the day we became parents and entered this new chapter of our lives. The love we feel is wild, fierce, powerful, strong, indescribable. I never knew my heart could be so full.
Eli, you are incredible and we can’t wait to see what else is to come.
Mommy and Daddy love you!
